Back to School the EAST Way

Matt Dozier
President/CEO – EAST Initiative

What can I say? Another summer is drawing to a close and by the time you read this school will have already started or else you’ll be in line somewhere with a basketful of school supplies wondering if the crowd will ever let up.

The staff at the EAST offices has been working the start of school since July. Over the summer we trained over 50 new EAST facilitators, over 130 new EAST Core teachers, nearly 200 of our existing facilitators at the Summer Seminar, and procured and installed the new programs…and prepared for the fall semester. What did you do with your summer break?

Marshmallow Challenge

This fall we welcome six brand-new EAST programs:

  • Bauxite Middle and High School (Bauxite, AR)
  • Beebe High School (Beebe, AR)
  • Harrison Middle School (Harrison, AR)
  • Mountain Home High School (Mountain Home, AR)
  • Tri County Tech (Bartlesville, OK)
  • Westwood Elementary (Springdale, AR)

We also are excited to see the beginning of a whole new era in EAST with the debut of EAST Core in five pioneer schools:

  • Harrisburg High School (Harrisburg, AR)
  • Hot Springs High School (Hot Springs, AR)
  • Morrilton High School (Morrilton, AR)
  • Prairie Grove High School (Prairie Grove, AR)
  • Star City High School (Star City, AR)

EAST and EAST Core represent the best in education. The staff is ready, the schools are ready, our teachers and facilitators are ready. I hope you’re ready as well. So fasten your lap belts, keep your hands and feet inside the capsule the whole time, we’re ready to launch. It promises to be a thrilling a ride.
